Before the real shooting begins, our group did some test shooting to test out the camera that we haven't used before. During these test shots, we went to the locations of the scenes that was in our plan. During the test shooting, we found that the camera had a night-mode on it in case we ever wanted to film in the dark but the night-mode was not necessary for our music video. A problem that we came across during our test shooting was the tripod that we were using. We found that the tripod did not stay upright when we were using it to film so therefore the camera had to be held at all times until we got a new tripod. During our test shoot, we tested the locations out and saw how they looked on the camera to see if we needed any lighting or any other equipment from the media department to make our video image better or not with lighting etc. We found that we didn't need any extra's when coming to filming in our locations that we had decided. Another thing that our group learnt was battery life managing. Because the camera that we were using had a low battery life, we had to keep changing the battery over from the two batteries that we had. To make sure we didn't do this as frequently, our group decided to turn the camera off all the time after a shot has been filmed during the testing. We found that this made filming a lot more efficient as we didn't have to re-charge the batteries as sooner. We also learnt that looking over your footage is a good idea. When looking over footage, it makes you certain to whether you've done a shot right or not. We found that it was best to look over your footage as soon as you have taken that shot. This was best because if we found that the shot that we did was not good, we could re-film the same shot again instead of filming the shot, leaving it to the next day and re-costuming up and re-filming. This would save a lot of time and effort when it comes to the real shoot.
